Hi everyone, I’m Kristyn, a registered and licensed dietitian nutritionist. I live in a northwest suburb of Chicago with my husband and 3 children. Pursuing a healthy and wholesome lifestyle for myself and my family has always been a priority for me. In this space I am excited to share my passion for food and nutrition with you!

My interest in nutrition started in high school. While spending time in my school’s career resource center, I happened upon a description of a dietitian. It was in that moment I knew exactly what I wanted to pursue for my career choice.
Fast forward to 2009, I earned by bachelor of science in food and nutrition at Dominican University. In 2011 I completed my dietetic internship and graduate degree at Rush University Medical Center, in Chicago. I have been a practicing dietitian for 14 years now and I am a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Currently, I work as an outpatient dietitian, providing nutrition counseling to patients with various needs. I enjoy connecting with people, getting to know them, and helping them reach their health and nutrition related goals.
One of the things I love about being a dietitian is that there are so many different ways to use my profession. I’ve also taught health and nutrition related college courses at a local university. I’ve worked several years in the acute care setting in a hospital where I cared for inpatients on various units including the ICU, general medical units, cardiac units, oncology units, inpatient rehab, etc. My very first dietitian job was in long term care in a nursing home and rehabilitation center. Additionally, I have given nutrition focused presentations to various businesses to educate employees about healthy eating.
Along with evidence based nutrition information I enjoy sharing my own homemade recipes. I also share some posts about book inspired food, as reading is my other love. You will also find some posts about my backyard chickens. I hope that you enjoy your time here!
